The Crispus Attucks History & Culture Center is open — and serving up York’s finest brew alongside 95 years of community history
When was the last time you had a great cup of coffee? We know where you can get your next great cup of coffee: Crispus Attucks History & Culture Center. The Crispus Attucks History & Culture Center (HCC) is open for business.
Join us Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and 1st Fridays from 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
During your visit, take a break and enjoy some snacks and a cup of coffee. At the History & Culture Center we brew and serve Green Bean Roasting Company coffee exclusively! The Green Bean Roasting Company is located in the City of York and is one of a few women-owned coffee roasting companies in the nation. The HCC is proud to serve York’s own GBRC!
Supporting local businesses like GBRC is central to CAY’s belief that the City of York is full of opportunity and world-class products and services. We believe that you will agree with us when you enjoy your next cup of GBRC coffee.

While visiting the HCC, enjoy the views of the City of York from our gorgeous rooftop deck or pull up a chair in the Unity courtyard and converse with friends, family, and other visitors. We offer a selection of snacks and both hot and cold brewed GBRC coffees including the flavor of the month: hazelnut.
In between your first and second cup of coffee, explore our 19,000 square feet of exhibition space and experience first-hand accounts of life-changing events at CA and in the City of York. Although the HCC is set up for self-guided tours, guided tours are available by inquiring at the receptionist desk. From the oral histories that recount the civil unrest and riots in 1969 to the before and after pictures of revitalized neighborhoods within the CA four-block campus, you will gain a deeper pride in the resilience of the CA community.
As you visit the second floor of the HCC, we have markerboards for you to leave your thoughts and comments. We would love to hear from you. On the third floor in the exhibit that features Bobby Simpson’s office and music box collection, you can leave a personal note to Bobby. We look forward to your notes and comments. Your words are an important part of our exhibits.
We look forward to seeing you at the HCC and learning about CA’s history and getting to know each other over a cup of coffee!

We will keep the coffee fresh, and we look forward to seeing you at the HCC.
